Brent Allen Foltz, 20, of West Terre Haute, died at 12:21 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2008, in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was an apprentice plumber with Sycamore Engineering in Terre Haute. He was born May 2, 1988 in Terre Haute to Wayne A. Foltz and Lisa A. Evans Foltz.
Survivors include his parents of West Terre Haute; maternal grandparents, Gilbert A. and Flora B. Evans of West Terre Haute and Sondra K. and George L. Green of West Terre Haute; paternal grandfather, Norman E. Thomas; his girlfriend, Genie Johnson of Rosedale; aunts and uncles, Christina and Jack Williams, Terry and Dena Evans, and David Foltz, and Harold Foltz; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Francis L. Foltz and Lois E. Thomas.
He was a graduate of West Vigo High School Class of 2007. He loved dirtbike racing, four-wheeler racing, hanging out with his friends, and diesel trucks. He was a member of the AMA (American Motorcycle Association) District 17 racing series and the GNCC (Grand National Cross Country) racing series and had been very involved in racing for many years, traveling the East Coast with the GNCC series and winning the season championship in 2005. He also enjoyed going to the various diesel truck shows. He was also a member of the Plumbers Union Local 157 in Terre Haute as an apprentice.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Roush officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and prior to services Saturday. Burial will be in Pleasantview Cemetery. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Goshen Fire Department with envelopes available in the funeral home.
