Doroline, also known as "Dee",or "Gigi" died on Tuesday, May 6, 2008. Doroline was married to Bruce for for 37 years. She was employed as a bookkeeper for finance offices until her retirement. Doroline is survived by her husband, her family which includes Glen and Sharon, Sandy,Brenda,Scott, Gary, Bill & Pam, Fred, Ted, Bruce, 24 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Arlene, and Madiline, 2 brothers, Kenny and Richard. She was preceded in death by her parents, her granddaughter, Marcy, and 3 brothers, Bill, Fred, and Bernie.
Doroline loved her family so very much, in fact she talked about them so often and would refer to her occupation as being a grandma..
One of her favorite sayings was "Jesus, Mary & Joseph", her favorite music was the 60's and 70's .. and she loved Nascar racing.. I can only imagine the enthusiasm she must have shown as she was watching the races..
Dorolene spent as much time as she could on Pogo playing with family members as well as friends and loved spending time with those she cared about .. I remember how excited she was when she became a "pogo millionaire with her tokens".. She was so excited and wanted to spend them wisely...
She became "Mom Gigi" to me and was a very special person in my life.. I enjoyed every game that I played with her and every phone conversation we had.. There was always so much laughter and we shared so many things with one another, however she always shared with me about the love of her family and her husband..We laughed together and cried together and prayed together.. I will never forget our last conversation was just a few weeks ago, the night before her surgery and I was able to pray with her and we were able to let each other know just what we meant to one another..This is an extremely special gift and blessing to me that was given to me by the Lord..
I want everyone to know that Doroline loved all of you so very much and it was for all of you that she tried so very hard to live, she just became very tired, but remember when she left this earth to be with the Lord, she took a part of our hearts with her, however she also left a part of her heart with us...As you all know, she had a very big heart...
Mothers Who are No Longer Among Us......
In tears we saw you sinking,
And watched you pass away.
Our hearts were almost broken,
We wanted you to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping,
So peaceful, free from pain,
How could we wish you back with us,
To suffer that again.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.
If Roses grow in Heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother's arms
and tell her they're from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
but there's an ache within my heart
that will never go away.
Don't think of her as gone away
Her journey's just begun
Life holds so many facets
This earth is only one
Just think of her as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years
Think how she must be wishing
That we could know, today
Now nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away
And think of her as living
In the hearts of those she touched
For nothing loved is ever lost
And she is loved so very much
