My dad was a truck driver and he had been for 19 years. On October 24th a student who was driving a semi pulled out of a rest area in front of my dad on the Interstate. My dad didn't have time to slow down and while swerving to miss the other semi he clipped the end of the trailer, smashing it back on him. It somehow jackknifed and ended up in front of the other truck, the details haven't been confirmed yet,and I will update when we get that information. My dad was airlifted to OU Medical Center where he passed away and was revived only to pass away for the last time 15 minutes later. He suffered massive head injuries and a collapsed lung and that is just the injuries that caused his death. The other driver and the teacher that was in the passenger seat weren't injured, but my dad was on his way home when he lost his life that day. The Funeral was on October 27th and had to be closed casket because of the head injuries. My dad loved his family, and even though we had a rocky relationship i miss him more than words can say. You don't realize how important someone is until their gone. He will be greatly missed.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (King James Version) 16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
This trucker was getting weary. He had driven many miles. 18 wheels no longer turning. The midnight oil no longer burning. Now with Jesus his journey ends. The highway to Heaven lead him home.
