Jacquie Donadio
A beautiful girl, now a beautiful Angel

Jacqueline (Jacquie) Donadio, 20, a lifelong Dongan Hills resident and college student who experienced life with eyes wide open, died Wednesday (02/06/08) in Richmond University Medical Center, West Brighton, of injuries sustained in a car crash while on her way home from classes at the College of Staten Island.

Ms. Donadio was born on Oct. 19, 1987 in Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze.

She danced her way through childhood at Dance Electra, South Beach, and as a teenager saw her circle of friends outgrow her very large and loving family.

Known for her adventurous spirit, Ms. Donadio counted scary movies and roller-coasters among her favorite thrills. She loved animals and trying new things, and appreciated simple things, like ranch dressing, pizza and chicken cutlets.

She's also been affectionately called a big kid for her infatuation with the Sesame Street monster Elmo and fierce battles on Nintendo.

Known to flash a mischievous smile, Ms. Donadio shared her zest for life by ending every conversation with her parents and brothers with "I love you," they recalled.

She was a 2005 graduate of New Dorp High School, where she had been involved with the Teaching Scholars program.

Ms. Donadio was studying business law at CSI, where she was a sophomore. Though she wasn't sure of her career path following graduation, she showed an interest in teaching, her family said.

During her high school and college years, she worked at the Hylan Dairy where she developed friendships with her co-workers.

Ms. Donadio liked music, especially rock and heavy metal, and could often be found at Dock Street in Stapleton, where she would listen to her brother's and friends' bands.

She also loved spending time with her best friend, Nicole Hernandez. The two spent nearly every day together, between school and hanging out at home. She was also close with longtime friends Frank Baroff and Genine Ferrara.

Family was extremely important, and she looked forward to big holiday dinners with her aunts, uncles and cousins.
