James Vincent Gerbino

James Vincent Gerbino, 86, of Shelbyville, Indiana, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003, at Major Hospital.

Born Aug. 19, 1917, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of Joseph and Rosa Gerbino.

He married Carmen Allen on July 21, 1958, and she survives.

Other survivors include one brother, Leonard Gerbino; one brother-in-law, Phillip Polston; two sisters-in-law, Mary Gerbino & Patricia Polston; six nephews, Joseph Gerbino, Anthony Gerbino, Leonard Gerbino, Scott Polston, Mark Polston, and Stephen Polston; and one niece, Rebecca Polston.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Vito Gerbino.

Mr. Gerbino moved to Shelbyville in 1999.

He was a foreman for Bohn Aluminum for 44 years, retiring in 1979.

Mr. Gerbino was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, all in Greensburg. He also bowled on several leagues in Greensburg.
