Jean Ann Jacobs, 17, passed away suddenly Thursday, November 11, 2004 at Riverside Regional Medical Center. She had the nickname of “Little Angel” that was given to her by members of the Abingdon Volunteer Rescue Squad after she was born in their ambulance somewhere close to York High School on their way to Mary Immaculate Hospital. Jean was a senior at York High School where she had been involved in many activities. She also competed professionally and was a Junior Olympics Medallist in the sport of Karate.
Jean is survived by her parents, Catherine Jacobs and Curtis Jacobs, brothers, Curtis “CJ” Jacobs, Jr., Wesley “Wes” Jacobs and Andrew Pitman, maternal grandmother, Betty Hoppe, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Jacobs, maternal great grandmother, Madeline Hoppe, aunts, Stephanie Hoppe, Bronwin and Sumner, uncles, Tom Hoppe and Stephen Hoppe as well as many other loving relatives and dear friends.
A life celebration service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at Seaford Baptist Church by Dr. Daniel S. Reagan. The burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, November 15, 2004 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. Friends are also encouraged to visit www.mem.com to share words of comfort with the family.
