My name is Lisa and I wanted to make a memorial site for Mary Lou who was my best friend for almost 20 years. She was an incredible woman.
She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in May, 2005. Chemotherapy, radiation, pain medications and basically her body failing her never brought down her spirit. She fought for her 19 year old daughter, Shanna and her 2 year old son, Jarett. She also did not want to leave her friends.
Many times over the last 2 years we thought that we were going to lose her. At times, medically the doctors could not explain why Mary Lou was still here. She fought such a hard battle.
Before her diagnosis of cancer she worked out 5 to 6 days a week and when she decided that she needed a workout partner she told me that I had a "heart shaped butt, I was mortified, but the next day I signed up at Club Genesis. She nearly killed me and many times I could not walk or move my arms because she kept telling me that I could lift more weight or "push a couple more out"!! I remember having to lay my toothbrush on the counter to brush my teeth because I couldn't pick up my arm high enough to reach my mouth. I think she should have been a drill sargeant!!
