Michael Leon Johnson, 36, was born May 9, 1968 to Frankie Lee Jones and Lida M. Johnson in Kansas City, Missouri . He was the fifth of seven children. His maternal grandparents, Emmett and Helen Shelby, one nephew and one niece preceded him in death.
Michael accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by his brother, Rev. George Johnson at Mount Ararat Baptist Church. He attended Weeks Elementary, King Middle School and graduated from Paseo High School, class of 1986.
Michael loved to sing, dance and listen to music. He was a member of the Ararat Missionary Baptist Church Choir. He was very outgoing and loved to make people laugh. He was always the life of the party. Michael worked as a school bus driver for the Laidlaw Bus Company and Durham Bus Service.
Michael departed this life on Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at his home in Overland Park, Kansas.

George Johnson, (Mary), Dondi Johnson, both of Kansas City, MO and Terry Johnson, Draper, UT, five sisters, Shelly Johnson, Gena Johnson, (Bosede); Jeanne Johnson, (Racheal); Angela Rhodes, (George); Mary Johnson and Angela Rhodes, all of Kansas City, MO, six half sisters, Bonita Watkins, (Tim); Rosemarie Jackson, Connie Bryant, Vetty Cohn, Rosemary Washington, all of Kansas City, MO and Monique Walker, Oakland, CA, four uncles, Oscar Shelby, Rudolph Shelby, Don Shelby, all of Kansas City, MO and Joddie Garrett, Mart, TX, five aunts, Mildred Andrews, Albertine Cann, Beverly Johnson, all of Kansas City, MO, Bonnie Pendleton and Norma Jones, both of Mart, TX and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
