Paul Richard Crusius, 72, of Battle Creek was surrounded by his family at his residence, when he passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2009.
He was born in Lansing, MI to Paul S. and Hazel G. (Gonser) Crusius on September 25, 1937. Paul was a longtime resident of Marshall and Battle Creek, and graduated from Marshall High School and Spring Arbor Junior College. Paul served in the U.S. Army Security Agency during the Vietnam War. He was employed by Michigan Bell as a switch technician, until he retired in 1994.
Paul is survived by his wife, Casey; his sister, Julie (Don) Root of Battle Creek; his daughter, Patty (Troy) Neubaum of Preston, MD; his son, Sean (Tracy) Wright of Battle Creek; his grandchildren, Courtney, Zachary, Tyler and Tiffany; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Paul was fondly referred to as "Grandpa" by many. He was a member of the Ameritech Pioneer Club. Paul was a Michigan State Spartan, Detroit Red Wing, Detroit Tiger and Detroit Lion fan. He was a computer-holic, an avid reader, would debate with anyone about politics and he had his favorite haunts.
